TOUR  N. 22 - POMPEII - SORRENTO - POSITANO

Our English speaking driver will be waiting at the gangway of your ship at 8 am. This itinerary has been designed for cruisers who would like to visit the archelogical site of the world famous ruins of Pompeii. This will be about a 2 hour walking tour that you can take with or without a tour guide. 

After Pompeii we will be off to visit Sorrento, a quiet, enjoyable and charming place famous for its mild climate, the perfume of its gardens the panoramic terraces, lovely open air markets where you can find cameos and fine articles of inlaid wood. The homes are surrounded by groves of olive, lemon and orange trees and the views are beautiful.

After Sorrento we continue along the Amalfi coast, one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. The scenery is characterised by mighty cliffs that drop in the sea, rich with bays and coves, winding and colourful.

We can stop for photographs over the enchanting town of Positano with its famous high-fashion shops.

Positano develops vertically. The homes, one on top of the other, are characterised by arched porticos that give onto the sea, and are painted in pastel colours.

Your driver will find a trattoria where you can enjoy a typical Italian meal, pizza or salad.

We will spend the rest of the afternoon in Positano.

Return to the ship late afternoon.

• Duration of this daytrip: 9 Hours.
• Comfortable walking shoes and sun hats are recommended.
• A Pompeii tour is entirely on foot and involves around 2 hours of walking. To completely enjoy your Pompeii tour we suggest hiring one of our English speaking Pompeii guides for a 2 hour Major highlight tour (not included). The rate for a Pompeii guide is 120 Euro.
• Entrance fee to Pompeii ruins is 11 € (euro).
• Pompeii is partially wheel chair accessible.

Payment are only in cash with Euro currency or Traveller's cheques directly to your driver.
