Just a brief note to let you know we were very pleased by the tour service you offered during our Cruise on 9/27 and 9/28.  Our two drivers (Ellie in Florence and Franco in Rome) were great.  They were both courteous, helpful and made the best of our tour time.  Ellie was especially great at getting us around and arranging lunch plans.  Franco is an outstanding tour guide with great English and very informative.  We had a great time on both tours as did our friends.  Just thought you would want to know, as I am sure you already know,  these two mem do a great job for you.  I would recommend to anyone interested.

We can only rave about Angelo and our tour of his beloved Roma!  He made the tour truly great.
If I had had to describe our Roma guide to anyone before meeting Angelo, all I would have had to do was show them this picture.

4 Transfers and 1 4 Hour Driving Tour

On behalf of Sharon and I and the two couples traveling with us, I wanted to thank Bob's for their professional and on-time service.  We especially wanted to mention the services provided by Jerry for transporting us from our hotel to the harbor on 10/15/11 and from the harbor to our hotel on 10/25/11, and we also wanted to mention the great tour of Naples, Pompei, and surrounding areas provided by Enzo.  Both Jerry and Enzo were a lot of fun and provided a lot of interesting facts and conversation.

Having just returned from our Mediterranean cruise aboard the Grand Princess I am writing to thank-you for the fabulous service we received from your organisation whilst visiting Rome and Florence. 

 

From our collections at the ports to our return later in the day we received fantastic attention from your drivers - Franco in Rome and Alberto in Florence.  Nothing was too much trouble for these gentlemen, they showed myself and my fellow travellers the utmost courtesy and both of them were so informative when it came to explanation of the areas during our two tours, it made our visits to the two cities so much more interesting and enjoyable.  We would certainly have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending your tours to any future travellers we know.

This is a review from a very sad and unhappy client that had a complaint for each and every service.  We do our best in servicing our clients in the best way possible but some people are never satisfied and must  have a complaint to make their day. At the end you can also understand from his words that he was also unhappy about visiting Italy.

i used your service on 4 separate times during my stay before, during and after a 10 day cruise of the Mediterranean.  my reservation numbers were: SH1000000xxx, SH1000000xxx, SH1000001xxx and SH100000xxx.  these four trips were from the airport to rome, rome to the civitavecchia, civitavecchia to rome, and rome to the airport.  i did a lot of research prior to making reservations with you and one of the major reasons for choosing your company was price, although price was not the only reason, good reviews on trip advisor helped. 

 

i have been debating about leaving a review of my experiences with your company on trip advisor but have decided that this would not accomplish anything and instead decided to communicate directly with you in order to give some constructive criticism.

 

upon arrival in rome, we waited with great anxiety for about 10 minutes before the driverr arrived.  we constantly looked over the sea of drivers with everyones names on signs but our name was no where to be seen.  our plane did arrive on time.  the driver finally showed up with our name on a sign and said absolutely nothing other than to motion for my wife and i to follow.  he made no attempt to help us and walked very quickly to where his van was parked.  he didn't even have the curtesy to turn around to see if we were following him.  during the drive to rome i asked him about the weather and he made it very clear that he couldn't speak english.  he was not a good first impression with your company or to italy.

 

when the day came to head to the ship the driver showed up with another couple in the van, and then we proceeded to two other hotels to pick up two more couples.  having done lots of research for transportation to and from civitavecchia i saw that there were different rates for 1 - 8 people.  no where in my contract with you did it mention that we would be sharing the van with others.  i assumed that once we arrived in civitavecchia that due to 8 people being in the van there would be a rate reduction.  there was not.  i will say that the driver (jerry) was very personable and pleasant to talk with. 

 

for the return to rome after the cruise, the driver arrived late and my wife and i were the first to get in the van.  we then proceeded to another ship to pick up two more couples and then back to my ship to pick up a fourth couple.  while waiting for couple number 3 i questioned couple number 2 regarding the rates they were quoted and they too felt that there was a discrepancy regarding the number of passengers in the van opposed to the rates listed on your website. 

 

on sunday afternoon, 6 november i tried to contact you to confirm a 3 am pickup at my hotel.  not being very successful with this the hotel clerk took care of it for me.  after speaking to someone at your business, the hotel clerk informed me that the rate to the airport had increased by 10 euros.  this really upset me.  i was aware of the fact that your website states that rates are higher during certain hours but i had a price quote and contract with you for a ride to the airport from my hotel for 36 euros.  no where in my email from you do you mention that the rate is going to be higher and the email did state the pickup time to be 3 am.  i assumed that since i was exclusively using your services during my trip to rome that you were giving me a break. 

 

your driver arrived on time the morning of our departure and much to our dismay it was the very unfriendly driver we had upon arrival in rome.  obviously, no attempt was made on my part to communicate with him on the trip to the airport.  it was raining quite heavily that morning and upon arrival he left up under an overhang that was in the between  terminal 1 and 2.  at that hour of the day (3:30-3:45 am) there is only one entrance open in the airport at each terminal.  we walked and walked to finally find out this fact and once inside terminal one, we find out that we had to be at terminal 3.  trust me, at this point i was really begrudging having tipped this driver 4 euros.  terminal 3 can not be accessed from the other terminals which meant we had to go back outside and retrace our steps from where we were left off and continue down and past terminal 2 and then onto terminal 3.

 

for many reasons, the least of which is your company and its lack of service, we have no desire to return to italy.  but, if we did i would not be looking into your company for my transportation needs.

We at Rome Limousines would like to thank you and express our appreciation for your insight regarding our Shuttle services but we must say that we are quite surprised that you have these feelings regarding our service and will explain why:

 

1) By reading your email it seems that you did not read our page regarding Shared Shuttle Service (but I don't think that someone as meticulous as you overlooked it, seeing that you "did a lot of research"). 

 

- It clearly indicates that the service offered is shared with others with Mini vans and/or Mini buses (sometimes lucky clients may have a sedan on their own).

 

- That shuttle or private services at times can be delayed due to weather conditions, heavy traffic, strikes, etc. and that Shuttle services are not always on time but we indicate an approximate pick up time, which if delayed, is always less than 30 minutes (that's also one of the reasons we offer you such a low rate). 

 

- That we do not offer English speaking drivers for shuttle services (Jerry is an exception, he prefers doing Shuttle service and not tours). In fact, we cannot guarantee English speaking drivers even for private transfers due to the many private tours and daytrips that we perform each day with our English speaking drivers.

 

- That there is a 30% surcharge for night service (a taxi rate at that hour would have costed you 65 Euros and not 46 Euros that you paid with our service), and even if you were confirmed 36 Euros (regular day rate) by mistake, you can clearly check the extra cost written on our webpage. 

 

- That the rate for a shared shuttle service from the port is the lowest rate in Rome, 85 Euros compared to a private service that has a cost of 130 Euros (how could you ever expect to have a private service for 85 Euros?  I'm also positive that you read our private service rates).

 

- That if you found a discrepancy between your rate and other passengers when you were investigating on how much they paid for their transfer, maybe you didn't realize that many clients have a senior discount. Otherwise, our rates are the same for everyone. The only way that 3/8 persons using our Shuttle services can pay less is if they are all in the same group.

 

I'm sure that you understand that we cannot put all the above information on each email confirmation that we send our clients, that is why we have a website for you to read.

 

In any case, we thank you once again for your feedback and can assure you that we strive to offer better service everyday.

Thank you very much.  We really enjoyed our stay in Rome, thanks in large part to your services.  We got picked up no problem at the airport upon our arrival by one of your drivers.  The next day we hired your driver, Franco, to take us on a one-day driving tour of the city's highlights.  Franco was great.  The next day, we hired your guide, Sergio, for a walking tour of the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica.  Sergio was fantastic!  He was so knowledgeable and kind.  He was very patient and didn't rush us, even though I was in a wheelchair and probably moved a bit slower than most customers.  He knew his way around and had excellent knowledge of all the major exhibits.  His English was excellent too.  I will certainly recommend your services to friends and relatives who plan to visit Rome.

7 Your driver Salvator was our tour driver for all 3 tours we booked through you. 1."Rome by Night" Tour; 2."Pompeii, Sorrento & Amalfi Coast"; 3. "Wine Tasting" -- MASSIMO was most knowledgeable of the Italian countryside. My son enjoyed the Tour of Pompeii with an Italian/American guide Antonio Somma who was available for a 2 hour tour service in Pompeii. As this was our first time in Rome, and only having a day to experience this great city, my wife and I were uncertain as to how we would see the sites on our own, given our short time frame to do so. He was courteous and driven to make this one-day event all it could be.

As you say, "it's great to be expected wherever you go!" It was truly a pleasure to be greeted by your driver at the airport upon our arrival in Rome, and again at the Naples train station by your driver, Giovanni. Giovanni took us on a great tour of the Amalfi Coast - - and impressed us with his calm and expert handling of the hairpin turns - - before dropping us in Ravello. He then picked us up in Ravello two days later and took us to Pompeii and back to the Naples station. He was extremely courteous and pleasant and a wonderful driver.

We appreciate your service and will certainly recommend you to anyone we know who is travelling to Italy.
