TOUR N. 13: POMPEII-SORRENTO-CAPRI
 This tour begins at your hotel or pick up location in Rome where one of our English speaking driving guides will meet you with one of the Luxury air-conditioned vehicles of your choice to begin the drive from Rome to Pompeii.
You'll visit Pompeii in the morning (about 2 hrs. with a Pompeii guide) and see the fascinating excavations that have been done on this ancient Roman city that was buried under the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD.
 Then we'll travel on to Sorrento along the scenic and picturesque coastal road of southern Italy. We can visit some nice shops at a local open market where among many other articles we can shop for specialties like; limoncello, cameos and inlaid wood works.
Afterwards, a hydrofoil from Sorrento to the beautiful island of Capri (about 20 min.) This tour can be taken with or without the use of a guide for Capri and Pompeii.
Return to Rome in the late afternoon.
EXTRA INFORMATION:
- Duration of this daytrip: 12 hours.
- Comfortable walking shoes and sun hats are recommended.
- The vehicle and driver will be at your complete disposal for the entire duration of the tour.
- Walking is very limited unlike bus tour where you have to walk most of the day following your guides flag.
 - A Pompeii tour is entirely on foot and involves around 2 hours of walking. To completely enjoy your Pompeii and Capri tour we suggest hiring an official English speaking licensed guide that we can find on site (about 250,00 Euro for 5/6 hours and not included in our rate).
- Entrance fee to Pompeii ruins is 12 € (euro).
- Hydrofoil ticket is 14 € (euro) each way.
 - Pompeii is not wheel chair accessible.
- If you would like to have lunch our driver can suggest a snack bar, restaurant or pizzeria. To avoid unpleasant surprises its always best to inform your driver on how much you would like to spend and the time involved.
Payments:All rates are quoted in EURO funds. Payment can be made in USD, Euro, Traveler's cheques or with Visa/MasterCard/American Express (add 5% for c/c). The fee for private guides must be paid in cash only (no Credit Cards).
Our rate includes a vehicle and English speaking driver-guide for the entire duration of this tour taxes, tolls, fuel and parking fees. It does  not include private guides, entrance fees, hydrofoils, gratuities or meals unless mentioned in our confirmation.
Our English speaking driver will give a general overview regarding the history of the sites or monuments while in the car. He will allow all the time you need to visit with NO RUSHING as in group tours. By Italian law he is unable to conduct guiding inside museums, monuments, etc. If you would like a private guide for Pompeii or for both Pompeii and Capri we will book one of the finest guides available.
