TOUR N. 34: ROME HIGHLIGHTS WITH 2 HRS VATICAN TOUR
 With this tour you can enjoy an overview of the best sites that Rome can offer plus a private Vatican tour with an official guide in one day only.
Our English-speaking driving guide will pick you up near the gangway of your ship and drive you to Rome, it's about a 90 minute ride . Your tour will normally start at Piazza Venezia where Victor Emanuel Monument (the Vittoriano) is located, also called the Wedding cake by Americans.
 We will continue on to the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, the Arch of Costantine, the Circus Maximus, Capitol Hill, the Palatine Hill, the Catacombs (optional) and the Ancient Roman Baths of Caracalla.
While on our tour (depending on the Vatican guide's schedule) we will arrange to meet one of our Vatican guides, that will be waiting for you at the Vatican entrance, to take you on the 2 hour tour of the Vatican Museum & Sistine Chapel.
 After all this we will return towards the center of Rome for a visit inside the Pantheon, we'll walk through Piazza Navona, visit the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain.
During this tour, if you like, we can stop for a traditional Italian lunch (not included) at one of the many nice restaurants and maybe do some shopping.
In the afternoon you will be driven back to your ship.
EXTRA INFORMATION:
- Duration of this daytrip: 9 hours.
- Driving time: about 90 min. each way.
 - Always dress respectfully when visiting religious monuments; local custom requires covering knees and shoulders.
- Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
- The vehicle and driver will be at your complete disposal for the entire duration of the tour.
- Walking is very limited unlike bus tour where you must walk most of the day following a guide's flag.
- Your driving guide will drive you up very near to all the sites to visit with very little walking.
- The tour sequence may be changed to avoid traffic or demonstration congestions, that are frequent in Rome, but will always cover the mentioned sites.
- If you like, you can ask your driver to modify your tour to meet your complete satisfaction.
- Entrance to the Colosseum is 11 € (euro).
- Entrance to the Vatican Museum is 14 € (euro).
- Entrance to the Catacombs is 6 € (euro).
- If you would like to have lunch our driver can suggest a snack bar, restaurant or pizzeria. To avoid unpleasant surprises its always best to inform your driver on how much you would like to spend and the time involved.
 Payments: All rates are quoted in EURO funds. Payment can be made in USD's , Euro, Traveller's cheques or with Visa/MasterCard/American Express (add 5% for c/c).
The fee for the Vatican guides MUST be paid in cash only (no Credit Cards).
Our rate also includes the vehicle, one of our English speaking driving guides, a Private guide for the Vatican tour, taxes, tolls, insurance, fuel and parking fees. It does not include entrance fees, gratuities or meals unless specified in our confirmation.
Our English speaking driver will give a general overview regarding the history of the sites and monuments while in the car before you enter. He will allow all the time you need to visit with NO RUSHING as in group tours.
