TOUR N. 37: ORVIETO - ASSISI
 This tour has been designed for our guests that have already visited the beauty of Rome and would like to visit the romantic region of the Umbria region and visit the charming little towns of Orvieto and Assisi, city of St. Francis.
You will be met near your ship's gangway by one of our driving guides (with a sign) at about 8 AM with one of our luxury air-conditioned vehicles.
 We will begin our 2 hour driver to Assisi where you will see and visit the famous Basilica of Saint Francis, where Italy's patron saint is buried.
The real Italy, far away from the modern highways and large cities, where small ancient villages are waiting to be discovered in the heart of the Umbrian countryside. Assisi is an oasis of art and architecture and home of Saint Francis, one of Italy's most loved saints.
 We will then enjoy a beautiful drive through the Umbrian countryside with quaint medieval towns dotted along your route. A short drive from Assisi brings you to the picturesque town of Orvieto, which boasts one of Italy's finest and most impressive gothic cathedrals. Be sure to take in the scenery, as the town offers stunning views across its vineyards and fields.
EXTRA INFORMATION:
- Duration of this daytrip: 9 hours
- Always dress respectfully when visiting religious monuments; local custom requires covering knees and shoulders.
 - Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
- The vehicle and driver will be at your complete disposal for the entire duration of the tour.
- Walking is very limited unlike bus tour where you must walk most of the day following a guide's flag.
- If you like, you can ask your driver to modify your tour to meet your complete satisfaction.
- The tour sequence may be changed to avoid traffic but will always cover the mentioned sites.
- If you would like to have lunch or quick snack our driver can suggest a snack bar, restaurant or pizzeria. To avoid unpleasant surprises its always best to inform your driver on how much you would like to spend and the time involved.
 Payments: All rates are quoted in EURO funds. Payment can be made in USD's , Euro, Traveller's cheques or with Visa/MasterCard/American Express (add 5% for c/c).
Our rate also includes taxes, tolls, insurance, fuel and parking fees. It does not include private guides, entrance fees, gratuities or meals unless mentioned in our confirmation.
Our English speaking driver will give a general overview regarding the history of the sites and monuments while in the car before entering. He will allow all the time you need to visit with NO RUSHING as in group tours.
