TOUR N. 40: SIENA - SAN GIMIGNANO
 This daytrip tour has been designed for guests who have already seen the famous attractions and beauties of Florence and Pisa and are looking for a truly wonderful and exceptional excursion
After approx. 1.5 hours driving through medieval towns and beautiful surrounding valleys, we will stop at San Gimignano, an enchanting medieval village that has taken the name of Bishop Gimignano who saved the city from the barbarians. The Italian Manhattan as it has been called because of it's tall, majestic towers. You will have time to visit and shop
 Re-board your vehicle and off to Siena where enthusiastic visitors claim that it's a place that should not be missed. Founded by Augustus around the time of birth of Christ, the city became a wealthy and powerful rival of Florence during the late middle age. Today Siena offers visitors a fascinating passageway to the Renaissance.
You will have time to visit Piazza del Duomo. It is the site of the annual spectacular palio horse race, Piazza del Duomo, where the Cathedral and the most outstanding buildings stand.
 Return to the ship in the late afternoon

- Duration of this daytrip: 9 hours.
- Always dress respectfully when visiting religious monuments; local custom requires covering knees and shoulders.
- Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
- The vehicle and driver will be at your complete disposal for the entire duration of the tour.
- Walking is very limited unlike bus tour where you must walk most of the day following a guide's flag.
- If you like, you can ask your driver to modify your tour to meet your complete satisfaction.
- The tour sequence may be changed to avoid traffic or demonstration congestions, that are frequent in Rome, but will always cover the mentioned sites.
- If you would like to have lunch or quick snack our driver can suggest a snack bar, restaurant or pizzeria. To avoid unpleasant surprises its always best to inform your driver on how much you would like to spend and the time involved.
Payments: All rates are quoted in EURO funds. Payment can be made in USD, Euro, Traveller's cheques or with Visa/MasterCard/American Express (add 5% for c/c).
Our rate includes a vehicle and English speaking driver-guide for the entire duration of this tour. It also includes TAXES, tolls, insurance, fuel and parking fees. It does not include private guides, entrance fees, city entrance tax for buses with over 8 persons, gratuities or meals unless specified in our confirmation.
Our English speaking driver will give a general overview regarding the history of the sites and monuments while in the car before entering. He will allow all the time you need to visit with NO RUSHING as in group tours.
