TOUR N. 31 -  FLORENCE  MAJOR  HIGHLIGHTS

This daytrip excursion is for those that have limited time and would like to visit Florence in one day from Rome. Our English speaking driver will be at your hotel or pick-up location in Rome at the requested time to start the 3 hour drive to the world famous city of Florence.

The city is located on both banks of the Arno river and surrounded by the Appenine hills. Among the most famous, Florence is the home of Dante, Machiavelli , Michelangelo and the Medici Family.

Our tour will begin from the central and famous market of St Lorenzo, characterised by its workshops and multicoloured stalls, where the Medici Chapels and Basilica di San Lorenzo , the church of Medici’s family, are located. You also stop at the Accademy, which homes Michelangelo’s famous sculpture of David, and on request, you can also visit the breathtaking Uffizi Gallery. The driver will pick you up from your hotel in Rome and take you back at the end of the day.

 Our rates DO NOT INCLUDE: private guides, meals, entrance fees or gratuities.  Tips are not mandatory but normally range between 10-20%.

Please note that the Accademia and the Uffizi museum are closed on Mondays!

For those who love art and painting we can also visit the Uffizi building that homes paintings of Cimabue , Giotto, Botticelli, Leonardo Da Vinci, etc. in 44 rooms full of art.

Our driver will find a nice unexpensive trattoria to enjoy a traditional Italian meal, pizza or salad. 

Return to your hotel Rome in the late afternoon.

EXTRA INFORMATION:

• Duration of this daytrip: 12 hours.
• Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
•  
• We recommend booking the Accademy and/or Uffizi Gallery tickets on your own to avoid waiting in long lines.  Call them directly (they speak English) at 011 39 055 294.883 or 0039 055.294.883.
• We suggest booking one museum or the other allowing more time for the Florence tour. Book the Museum starting at 11 am.. Accademy tour takes about 45/60 minutes. Uffizi tour takes about 1hr.30min.
• Entrance fee to the Accademy is 7 € (euro) + reservation fee 4€.
• Entrance fee to the Uffizi Gallery is 10 € (euro)+ reservation fee 4€.

Payments:

Payments only in cash with Euro currency, or Euro Traveller's cheques directly to our driver.

We DO NOT CHARGE CREDIT CARDS.. The information requested ONLY to secure reservations.

Our driver will go at your pace and will allow all the time you need to visit with NO RUSHING as in group tours. By Italian law he is unable to conduct guiding inside museums, monuments, etc.
