TOUR N. 36  - POMPEII -  SORRENTO - CAPRI

You will be met at your hotel or pick up location in Rome by our English speaking driver at the time you've requested (we suggest 7 AM if possible) to begin the 2 1/2 hr.drive from Rome to Pompeii.

You'll visit Pompeii in the morning (takes about 2 hrs. with a Pompeii guide)  the fascinating excavations that have been done on this ancient Roman city that was buried under the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD.

Then we'll be off to Sorrento along the scenic and picturesque coastal road of southern Italy.  

We will take a hydrofoil from Sorrento to the beautiful island of Capri (about a 20 min. ride). This tour is with one of our Naples guides that will be with you from Pompeii to when you return from Capri.

Return to Rome in the early evening.

EXTRA INFORMATION:

• Duration of this daytrip: 12 hours.
• Comfortable walking shoes and sun hats are recommended.
• A Pompeii tour is entirely on foot and involves about 2 hours of walking. To completely enjoy your tour we suggest hiring one of our English speaking Pompeii guides (120 Euro for a 2 hour tour) or renting audio guides. Our English speaking private guides are also available to tour Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri with you (250 Euros for 6/7 hours).
• Entrance fee to Pompeii ruins is 12 € (euro).
• If you've hired a guide, to avoid heavy traffic and risking to miss the hydrofoil we arrange a panoramic train ride from Pompeii directly to Sorrento.
• Hydrofoil ticket is 16 € (euro) each way.
  
• Pompeii is partially wheel chair accessible.
• Your driver or guide can find a nice trattoria where you can have a nice traditional Italian meal, pizza or salad.

PAYMENTS:

Payments only in cash with Euro currency or Travellers cheques directly to your driver.

We DO NOT CHARGE CREDIT CARDS, the information requested is only to guarantee your reservation.

Our rates DO NOT INCLUDE: Private guides, entrance fees to sites, hydrofoils, ferries or meals.
