Our English speaking driver will meet you at  your hotel or pick up location in Rome at 7.30 - 8 AM, with the vehicle that you have requested to begin the drive from Rome to Pompeii.

You'll visit Pompeii in the morning and see the fascinating excavations that have been done on this ancient Roman city that was buried under the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD.

Then we'll travel on to Sorrento along the scenic and picturesque coastal road of southern Italy. We can visit some nice shops at a local open market where among many other articles we can shop for specialties like; limoncello, cameos and inlaid wood.

From Sorrento we drive along the breathtaking Amalfi Coast to Positano and, descending the winding one-way road, bypassing many local restaurants, we get to the heart of the town - the busy central Piazza dei Mulini that is connected to a narrow downhill path and a few flights of steps that lead to the seafront. All streets leading to the waterfront are for pedestrians only so we must drop you off at the Piazza dei Mulini. These streets also lead to the cathedral, shops selling ceramics, lemons, shoes and "Positano fashion" clothing. 
You will enjoy the rest of the afternoon at Positano and then return to Rome.

• Duration of this daytrip: approx. 12 hours.
• Ride to Pompeii: about 2 1/2 hours.
• Comfortable walking shoes and sun hats are recommended.
• A Pompeii tour is entirely on foot and involves around 2 hours of walking. To completely enjoy your Pompeii tour we suggest hiring one of our English speaking Pompeii guides or renting audio guides. A Pompeii guide rate is 120 Euros for a 2 hour tour.
• Entrance fee to Pompeii ruins is 11 € (euro).
• Pompeii is partially wheel chair accessabile.
